Our Services

Robust

Seven Summits offers students the opportunity to discover their non-academic potential without compromising their academic future. We believe that a solid education is a great foundation to a happy, sustainable life, which is why Seven Summits’ primary focus is on education.

Our flexible, blended learning model allows students to explore their athletic, artistic, or other personal aspirations, without them getting in the way of academic achievements.

In order to be successful, 7S students need to be self-motivated, disciplined, and performance-driven. Maybe not at 100% from day one, because we realize that these characteristics sometimes take some time to develop, but it takes a great level of dedication to do two important things at the same time…

The nature of our model, with discipline and self-sustainability at its core, is one of the reasons why our students do so well at college and university. They are used to sitting themselves down and doing the work!

Flexible

Whether you need extra time for sports, arts, or any other personal project, Seven Summits has your back! Personal training on Monday morning? Physio on Thursday afternoon? Dryland training all day Friday? Not a problem.

Many of Rossland’s local academies offer programs that require their top athletes to train on weekdays and, depending on the level of their performance, be away for competition multiple weeks per year.

Seven Summits offers them the opportunity to keep up with school work without missing any of the action! Just pack your laptop and check in with teachers, assignments, and fellow students when it suits you. This might also mean that, while others are out having fun, you might be working on an assignment with an approaching deadline. You will need to be ok with this, because this is the life of a dedicated 7S student and athlete!

Personal

We run our school the way Rossland runs its community: with a big smile, a positive attitude, and attention to the needs of every individual. Because our 7S population is so manageable, we can allow ourselves to focus our attention on every individual.

Our teachers and staff are local residents that live the Rossland lifestyle to the fullest. We enjoy the surroundings, the people, and the culture and give back by volunteering and organizing fun events. We know our students’ parents, which makes our work easier and fun.

The Rossland academies are run and governed by friends of 7S, which makes for short lines to get information across between the academy and school. In this way, coaches are up to date about the athlete’s academic progress, and 7S is in the loop on any incidents that can affect the student’s performance at school.

Testimonials

“I like Seven Summits because they support my ambitions. I get to do my school work in a chill environment where I am not stuck in a classroom but do get all the support I need. I’m pretty committed to my sport so I need a lot of flexibility from my school to go to bouldering competition in the province. It’s hard work sometimes, with a busy schedule, but I’m happy that I can do what I love AND get a good education.”

— Jasmine Tanguay, #10 Junior B climber in BC, Flux Climbing Rossland

“I like that I can do the work I need to do when I want to do it! It makes me feel independent and responsible, I bet those are important qualities in life, especially later!”

— Ava Echle, Snowboarder, Central Snowboard Academy

“You have to be independent and know how to manager your time. But even if you’re not or don’t know how, you’ll learn that here. Also, being off on Fridays is really helpful, especially when I go on ski trips. Or I can work on stuff… or not… and I can just have a good Friday off -big smile-”
