Ski Lift Graduation at RED Mountain Resort

Graduates Get a Well-Deserved Send Off On The Red Chair

As it was a strictly family affair, to keep numbers under 50, we live streamed the event on Facebook so that our whole learning community could enjoy it.  Watch the iconic red chair lift processional HERE with our two alumni Samura and Jasmine in charge of the camera.  They did a fine job!  You can also watch the graduation speeches and evening ceremony HERE on the deck at the base of RED.  Despite the downturn in the economy, our grads won big with over $9000 of scholarships shared between the six of them.  All of which were supported by Navigate NIDES and Rossland's many local businesses and organisations who contributed so generously.

After raising the audience to their feet to give a resounding '!!!WOOO HOOOO!!!!" (watch short clip here) to RED Mountain, guest speaker Petri {co-owner of The Rossland Beer Company} turned round to face them for an inspirational talk, giving an insight into how entrepreneurial dreams can be made by "not seeing the NO".  A good lesson for our grads as they embark on the next stage of their future lives with a little bit of 7S and their mentors' advice in their hearts.

Ann Quarterman, 7S Operations Manager:

What a great event!  Thanks for everyone’s help to pull off such a great grad!  It will be memorable in a very positive way!

2020 Grad Yasmin:

It's fricken awesome that we get this opportunity! I feel blessed that 7S went through all the trouble to make our grad special during these hard times.

2020 Grad Stephan:

It's  a bit surreal taking the chairlift up RED this late in the Spring but it's definitely a privilege for us to be able to do this.

2020 Grad Jasmine:

It's super awesome.  I couldn't wait! I feel lucky that the staff have worked so hard for us to have a great graduation when other grads aren't even having a ceremony at all.
